Disability Rights/Research Advocacy and Skills Training In Communication - A DRASTIC COURSE

Disability Rights/Research Advocacy and Skills Training In Communication - A DRASTIC COURSE
Course Overview
This course is designed to respond to the increasing interest in actively engaging disabled people in research as co-researchers. The objective of the course is that people, closely involved with disability issues, both disabled and non-disabled, are encouraged to identify research needs and to develop and sharpen research skills. We firmly believe research findings need to be translated into meaningful expression in the lives of people implicated in research and in order to facilitate this process, advocacy and communication training skills need to be enhanced.
Facilitators: Fiona Budge (MSc Medical Anthropology and Sociology, UvA, NL) and Dr Beatriz Miranda-Galarza, PhD Disability Studies (Leeds University, U.K)
