Announcement for "Dr. Harka Gurung–New ERA Fellowship 2016"
With its own resources, New ERA seeks to assist promising young Nepalese students from Universities in Nepal by providing them partial support for field research related to their thesis for Masters Degree. The priority areas for research fellowship are:
- Social Inclusion
- Social Movements
- Conflict Resolution
- Gender Equity/Women's Studies
- Poverty
- Internally Displaced People
- Security Sector Reform
- Governance/Accountability
- Maternal/Neonatal/ Child/ Reproductive Health
- Women and Children’s Health Issues
- Climate Change
- Natural Resources
- Community Forestry
- Regional and Local Economic Development
- Migration/Remittance
- Disaster Preparedness/Management
Applicants who have completed their course work for Masters Degree, have successfully completed their first year or second semester exam and are planning field research are eligible to apply. The proposals should be “close to final”; New ERA would like an opportunity to provide inputs and assist the selected candidates to finalize their proposals. The Fellowship amount can range up to Rs.35, 000/- depending on the need, quality of research proposal submitted and relevance of the topic of research.
Application form and other details about the fellowship program such as format for proposal submission will be available from New ERA office from 1st March 2016 within office time. Completed applications can be submitted to New ERA office or submitted online. Additionally, interested candidates can review advertisement published in Kantipur Daily Newspaper on November 12, 2016.
Applications arriving after November 30, 2016 will not be considered. Applicants sending the application through post/email should ensure that their application reaches New ERA by the specified deadline.
Preference will be given to female students and those from ethnic minority, disadvantaged groups, differently abled and remote areas. Preference will also be given to researches that will be carried out in Mid-Western and Far-Western regions of Nepal.
Proposals written in either Nepali or English will be considered. New ERA reserves the right to award or reject the proposals received.
