Consultant General Practitioner (MDGP) Medical · Achham, State 7 Nyaya Health Nepal (NHN) is seeking Consultant General Practitioner (MDGP)  or Family Physician or Medical Generalist to provide direct clinical and surgical care to the patients, train and educate non-physicians staff in best practices, ensure that all the medical staffs follow organizational cultural practices.  Number of Requirement: One Location: Achham (Bayalpata Hospital) Deadline: Rolling basis THE ORGANIZATION: Nyaya Health Nepal (NHN), a Nepal-based NGO, improves healthcare for underserved communities in Nepal, in partnership with the Ministry of Health. Our over 200+ staff serves a catchment area of over 200,000 people per year. Our integrated healthcare approach involves two teaching hospitals, a professionalized community health worker network, and strategic use of data and technology to connect patient records from hospital to home.  THE OPPORTUNITY: Are you the right fit? Big 3 Responsibilities:  * Provide high quality, patient-centered direct clinical and surgical care as GP * Train and educate Staff Physicians and Mid-Level Providers in evidence-based, up-to-date, best practices, advanced care techniques, and quality improvement of clinical care. * Ensure self, staff and peer adhere to organizational management practices.  AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES (AOR): 1. Provide high quality, patient-centered direct clinical and surgical care as GP * Perform inpatient, outpatient, emergency care, and surgical services to the highest level of ability and training of a GP * Ensure spending a minimum of 3 hours in the outpatient department every day. * Perform and support Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon in orthopedic surgeries and build capacity to perform orthopedic surgeries independently.  * Task shift and train staff physicians and midlevel providers to perform clinical care up to the maximum level of their education and ability. * Provide patient-centric, evidence-based, high quality, low-cost medical treatment of in-patients, out-patients, and outreach activities * Rigorously document all valid medical services provided in the electronic health record (EHR) * Participate in public health and clinical programs designed by Nyaya Health Nepal and Possible In consultation with Medical Director and GPs, and ensure minimum one GP is available in the hospital all year round, without exception. * Oversee surgical staff and the operating room staffing * Perform additional duties as required and upon request by the team and organization. 2. Train and educate Staff Physicians and Mid-Level Providers in evidence-based, up-to-date, best practices, advanced care techniques, and quality improvement of clinical care. * Attend daily morning update standing meetings and daily CMEs on time * Lead and participate in mortality and morbidity conferences * Perform bedside teaching with other providers * Participate actively in data review conferences * Lead and engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including current quality teams for each focal area * Lead and participate in hospital standard operating procedures, formulary, and strategy development.  3. Ensure self, staff and peer adhere to organizational management practices.  * Conduct a weekly one-on-one meeting with all direct reports * Ensure appropriate requests and collaboration are being made within the organization in matters related to all Human Resources, Financial, Procurement, and Facilities. * Ensure coordination with Community Healthcare Team for follow-up of surgical patients by community health workers * Be the hiring lead for any direct reports; assist with direct reports in their function as hiring lead with staff under them * Oversee the manager’s functions of the onboarding process, including review of AoRs, org culture code, and management system * Be responsible for corrective action and termination of any employees who are not meeting expectations * Perform additional duties requested by the Medical Director Qualification and Work Experience: MD in General Practice and Emergency Medicine from the recognized medical university of Nepal with NMC registration as specialist MD, and one year in district-level hospital experience.  Must-Have Qualities: Ability to perform basic emergency and elective surgeries of Ob-Gyn/ orthopedics/ general surgery including but not limited to- Cesarean sections (CS), emergency appendectomy, Hernia Repair Hydrocele, and other competently * Competency in the use of basic general and obstetric ultrasonography. * Excellent Communication and Team Collaboration Skills, * Excellent Facilitation skills for Continuing Medical Education (CME) * Interested and passionate about mentoring  and capacity building of mid-level providers (Health Assistants, Community Medical Assistants, Nurses, and allied medical workers) * Respect Patients and All staff in the organization. * Willing to work in resource-restricted and remote settings with limited tools at your disposal.
